Spiral Diner stands on strong moral beliefs of using mostly organic ingredients, recycled materials, and cruelty-free cleaning products. As for the food: the diner serves up breakfast all day, fresh smoothies, salads, sandwiches and wraps using tofu and meat substitutes, and a variety of classic entrees. 	If you&rsquo;ve spent a bit too much time in the sun, and are now suffering from irritating sunburn, we feel your pain. To help ease your scortching skin, try these simple and effective relief techniques that will help to soothe your burning skin.</p>
<ul>
<li>
		Take a bath or shower in cool water. This will bring down your overall body temperature and soothe your aching skin.</li>
<li>
		Apply 100% aloe vera gel to alleviate the pain and promote healing.</li>
<li>
		Take a pain killer (such as aspirin or ibuprofen) to help ease the stinging and swelling.</li>
<li>
		Keep hydrated, and help your skin to heal and remoisturize by drinking extra H2O.</li>
<li>
		If your extremities are burned, keep them elevated.</li>
<li>
		If the sensitive skin of your eyelids is burned, place chilled, damp tea bags or a cool washcloth over your eyes to help soothe them.</li>
<li>
		Wear and sleep in loose-fitting clothing to reduce pain &#8212; clingy clothes will rub against the burn and agitate it.</li>
<li>
		After a burn, stay out of direct sun for a few days to allow your skin time to heal. If you must go out in the sun, keep the sunburned parts of your body covered with a hat and protective clothing.</li>
<li>
		If the burn is severe, and you experience blistering, fever, chills, or weakness, contact your doctor. Remember, do not pop blisters and do not apply lotions or gels to them.</li>
<li>
		To prevent future sunburns, remember to apply a sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater at least 30 minutes prior to going outside into the sun. Also, if you&rsquo;re very sensitive to sun exposure, remember to wear a hat, long sleeves, and pants when you can. And lastly, be sure to reapply your sunscreen every few hours &ndash; especially after swimming or sweating!</li>

Regardless of what you call them, it is wise to look at the ingredients to determine whether they are a nutritious choice or merely empty calories. They can be wholesome or they can be artificial and highly processed. Don&#39;t make judgments based on the marketing words on the front of the wrapper or box. Turn the product over and read what it is made of.</p>

	&bull; Whole Grains: Oats are common to find in energy bars. All oats are considered whole grains; there are various stages of processing but there are no refined oats to watch out for. Whole grains are a healthy source of carbohydrates and fiber to help keep you full. Whole wheat flour is okay also, but if it just says wheat flour (which is another phrase for white flour), then it is not a whole grain.</p>

	&bull; Nuts and seeds: These are the &quot;good fats&quot; as well as an excellent source of protein and fiber. Any kind of nut or seed is a nutritious addition to your diet. Many people still associate fat from nuts and seeds with fat on their body and this is an inaccurate belief. Eating more calories than you need is what leads your body to store fat.</p>

Determine how much is in the bar by looking at where the sugar falls in the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of occurrence by weight). If sugar is up near the top then you know it&#39;s got a lot.</p>

	&bull; Partially-Hydrogenated Oils: Otherwise known as trans-fats. Most people know by now that these are the most dangerous type of fat out there. This is not a natural food; it has undergone extensive processing. In moderation, this is fine- just try to stick mainly to the bars with more wholesome and natural ingredients.</p>
